Multi-Skilled Engineer

📍 Newcastle 💰 Up to £42,000 ⏰ 40 hours per week | Alternating Early & Late Shifts 🏖 25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays

We are seeking a Multi-Skilled Engineer to join an established and growing food manufacturing business' production team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-invested site operating high-speed automated packaging machinery within a fast-paced FMCG environment.

The Role

Reporting to the Engineering Team Leader, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving production performance, safety, and quality standards across the site.

Key responsibilities include:

· Maintaining and improving the safety, legality, and quality of manufactured products

· Ensuring all production and warehouse machinery is maintained in good working order

· Servicing production machinery and responding to breakdowns

· Recording servicing, maintenance and breakdown data accurately

· Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance machinery performance

· Maintaining factory, warehouse and office facilities

· Ensuring hygiene and housekeeping standards are maintained

· Supporting production teams to ensure efficient and continuous output

· Supervising subcontractors where required

· Ordering spare parts in the absence of the Engineering Team Leader

You will also be involved in site opening/closing procedures and ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.

Machinery Experience (Highly Desirable)

Experience working with high-speed packaging equipment such as:

· IMA machinery (C51, C23, C21, case packers)

· Ilapak fill systems

· Jacob White form & fill machines

· Marden Edwards over wrappers

· Fuso tea bag machines

Electrical qualification would be advantageous.

Shift Pattern

· 40 hours per week

· Alternating early and late shifts

· Early shift starts at 6:30am

· Late shift starts at 2:30pm

About You

· Multi-skilled with mechanical and electrical capability

· Experience with in food or FMCG manufacturing preferred

· Proactive and self-motivated

· Comfortable working in a busy production environment

· Strong communication and teamwork skills

· Continuous improvement mindset

Package

· Up to £42,000 (depending on experience)

· 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
