In this role, you will support all aspects of facilities and manufacturing engineering within the heavy engineering operation. You will be responsible for developing and improving manufacturing processes to drive efficiency, quality, and output across the business. Providing hands-on technical support to production teams, leading root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions to resolve manufacturing issues. You will drive continuous improvement initiatives, lead process validation and new activities, and analyse production data to optimise performance.

This role would suit a Mechanical, Manufacturing or Production focused engineer, looking for a stable, long-term role within a close-knit, well-established manufacturing business that offers hands-on training, clear progression, and an excellent work-life balance with ten hour shifts Monday to Wednesday, a seven hour shift on Thursday and then a three day weekend to focus on what's most important to you.

The Role

• Support all aspects of facilities and manufacturing engineering within the heavy engineering operation.
• Support tooling and fixture design, equipment specification, and capital projects, while creating and maintaining process documentation, SOPs, and work instructions.
• Work closely with production, maintenance, and quality teams, you will ensure full compliance with HSE, quality, and regulatory standards.

The Person

• Experienced in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Production Engineering. (automotive / heavy industry desirable)
• Experience with CAD software, technical drawings, and knowledge of quality tools. (PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, 8D)
• Based local to Newcastle.
