Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Position: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer (Permanent)
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne

Jackson Hogg are delighted to be supporting our long standing client for the appointment of a Mechanical Maintenance Technician on a permanent basis based in Newcastle.

This role is a shift position rotating days and nights.

Job Description

* Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on a range of production machinery

* Diagnose and fault-find mechanical and electrical issues

* Read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics

* Work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems

* Support continuous improvement and breakdown reduction activities

* Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with company standards

Skills Required

* Open to a range of experience levels, including ex-forces / armed forces engineers

* Strong mechanical knowledge with basic to intermediate electrical understanding

* Confident working on industrial machinery

* Experience with hydraulics is essential

* PLC knowledge is beneficial but not essential

* Proactive, reliable, and able to work independently on shift
