Little More About Your Role…

Join WSP’s Global Sustainability Team and play a pivotal role in advancing our sustainability strategy across the UK and EMEIA region. As Head of Corporate Sustainability, you will lead the corporate sustainability program within the region, ensuring regulatory compliance, meeting regional client and market expectations, and aligning with WSP’s global sustainability strategy and objectives. This is a role with the opportunity to influence meaningful change and strengthen WSP’s industry leadership position.

Responsibilities
  • Lead Regional Programs (~50% of available hours):
    Manage corporate sustainability programs across EMEIA, with a focus on the UK, Central Europe, and the Nordics. Lead a small team (~5 FTEs) of sustainability professionals in this geographic region, supported by resources in our GCC sustainability centre of excellence in India. Maintain and enhance our well-established sustainability programs in the UK and Nordics to meet regulatory and global business requirements, while developing and expanding the program for Central Europe and the wider EMEIA region.
  • Manage Additional Needs of UK and Ireland Program (~50% of available hours):
    Understand, lead, shape and enable additional corporate activities required by the mature UK&I business to support strategic work winning and client delivery. Lead a small, established team (5 FTEs) with an agreed programme of activities. In 2026 include leadership and oversight of project decarbonisation (1 FTE) and social value (4 FTE) to support WSP’s corporate commitments and client contractual requirements across government and private sector.

These Two Elements
  • Ensure Regulatory Compliance:
    Oversee adherence to regional and local sustainability regulations, prepare disclosures required under the CSRD in the EU, SECR, ESOS and TCFD in the UK, and GHG disclosure requirements in Spain and France.
  • Meet Client Expectations:
    Support bid teams in responding to sustainability questionnaires and align regional sustainability objectives with evolving client expectations.
  • Enhance Data Collection and Reporting Processes:
    Ensure global platforms such as Oracle and Amex deliver required sustainability data, improving efficiency and quality of regional data collection.
  • Develop Regional Strategies:
    Translate the global sustainability strategy into actionable plans for EMEIA, develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance, and report on sustainability program to regional senior management.
  • Engage Leadership:
    Partner with regional leaders and business functions (e.g., legal, HR, workplace, IT) to embed sustainability into business operations and culture.
What We Will Be Looking For You To Demonstrate
  • Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Studies, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Significant experience in corporate sustainability or related fields.
  • Proven ability to manage complex business change projects and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Strong skills in building trust, driving change, and engaging stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Deep knowledge of global sustainability standards and regulatory frameworks.
  • Good knowledge of the UK regulatory and practical market requirements associated with social value.
  • Knowledge of social value measurement frameworks and standards, including TOMs.
  • Experience in overseeing the delivery of social value strategies and partnerships.
