Overview
Our Client is one of the North East’s largest and most successful housing providers; building, renting, selling and managing homes as well as providing services to over 60,000 customers.
PurposeTake the strategic lead and drive the approach to managing successful and sustainable (mainstream) housing, neighbourhood, and community services, comprising estates and voids, neighbourhood and tenancy management, income and allocations.
Identify, advise on, and comply with all regulatory and legislative requirements relative to your area.
Ensure delivery of strategic objectives specific to your area, whilst contributing to the overall delivery of the strategic priorities within the Housing and Communities strategy.
Operational Responsibilities- Ensure maximum housing occupancy, tenancy sustainment, revenue collection, and customer satisfaction in line with performance targets and budget expectation.
- Ensure compliance with contractual relationships with tenants, licensees, residents, stakeholders, and partners and that those contracts, licences, and/or service level agreements are appropriate in the circumstances.
- Ensure estate and neighbourhood services represent value for money and are effectively designed and delivered, so that estates and schemes remain safe and well maintained and contribute positively to the wider community.
- Ensure customers are at the heart of service design and delivery, in line with business needs and strategic objectives.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of initiatives and strategies which ensure the general needs housing portfolio, along with housing and neighbourhood services continue to be sustainable and achieve the expected return on investment.
- Develop, manage, and motivate colleagues to provide high quality, value for money services to tenants, customers, partners, and stakeholders.
- Embed a commitment to evolve the housing and neighbourhood services to reflect changing needs, circumstances, and opportunity.
- Develop and lead a professional, competent, effective, and dependable team of colleagues, supporting their development and growth.
- Educated to a degree level or equivalent by experience.
- Experience working in social housing.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the social housing sector, including regulatory and legislative requirements, particularly the Regulator of Social Housing’s Consumer Standard.
- Exceptional leadership skills with a demonstrable ability to manage and motivate colleagues, preferably in a housing environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience of understanding and responding to health and safety and risk management.
