Paralegal – Litigation
Newcastle | Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm
£30,000 – £35,000 DOE
A well‑established and growing litigation team is seeking a Paralegal with proven case handling experience. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their litigation expertise with clear future prospects of qualification/progression.
Key Responsibilities Case Handling & Litigation Support- Managing and progressing cases with appropriate supervision
- Drafting, reviewing and preparing legal documentation including correspondence, particulars of claim, schedules and evidence bundles
- Gathering, analysing and organising evidence from clients, third parties, witnesses and internal systems
- Ensuring all files are accurately maintained and progressed in line with internal standards, SLAs and the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR)
- Supporting the Litigation Manager in preparing cases for negotiation, settlement and litigation
- Assisting with drafting witness statements, instructions to experts, court documents and proceedings
- Acting as a professional point of contact for clients, insurers, solicitors, experts and internal colleagues
- Providing regular case updates and responding to routine queries
- Supporting expectation management and adherence to key deadlines
- Maintaining accurate records on case management systems
- Tracking deadlines, court dates and key milestones
- Contributing to improvements in processes, templates and documentation
- Essential: prior case handling experience within a legal or claims environment
- Working knowledge of litigation processes, evidence handling and CPR
- Strong IT skills and experience using case management systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organised, detail‑oriented and able to manage competing priorities
- A proactive team player with a strong client‑service focus
- Ambitious and motivated, with a clear interest in career progression and qualification
- A genuine development role with exposure to complex litigation work
