Our Residential House building team is one of the largest of its kind. Working with many major house builders, residential developers and housing clients our work is diverse and always of the highest quality. We support our clients in a range of projects from major urban mixed‑use developments to green field new settlements, and our expertise in the sector, coupled with our approach to client service means that we are rated as the premier team in Newcastle by both clients and the legal directories.

This role will see you working with our national house builder clients.

What will you be doing?

In this varied role you'll get to work on a broad range of client matters, linked and related to the sale and acquisition of residential property throughout England and Wales. You'll be responsible for managing your own caseload, handling complex files primarily for part exchange sales and purchases and secondary for plot sales.

Dealing with all aspects of the part exchange purchase process, including title and lease reviews, reviewing and reporting on title and pre‑contract searches, drafting deeds of covenants, notice of transfer and more. Administrating all the documentation which may be required as part of the transaction, including dealing with the sale of the part exchange properties, along with all aspects of the plot sales process, including replying to enquiries, exchange and completions and post completion formalities.

You'll also need excellent communication skills, the ability to work to tight deadlines whilst under pressure, a positive outlook and the desire to offer outstanding client service. Part exchange experience would be ideal, but as long as you have strong conveyancing experience we are able to offer the support and training you need.

  • At least 5 years' experience of dealing with residential conveyancing.
  • Experience of dealing with complex conveyancing issues.
  • Demonstrable experience of working to tight deadlines.
