Modern Language Assistant

Overview

We have a wonderful opportunity for an enthusiastic and friendly individual to join our vibrant Modern Languages Department as a Modern Language Assistant – French (Part Time, Fixed Term). This role will involve both in-class support and one-to-one conversation and coaching with students.

• Provide in-class support to teachers and students in the Modern Languages Department.
• Lead one-to-one conversation and coaching sessions with students.
• Assist with lesson preparation and language learning activities.

• Native French speaker or bilingual specialist.
• British-born linguists may also be considered if they have the right aptitude, skills and experience.

18 hours of contact time per week, Monday to Friday during RGS term time. Working days and daily start and finish times may vary, however the earliest start time will be 8:15 am and the latest end time will generally be 4:30 pm. Exact hours will be confirmed upon appointment in line with student timetables.

The salary for this role is circa £32k gross per annum (based on a full-time working contract). The Language Assistant’s actual salary for 18 hours per week during term time will be adjusted to circa £10k, proportionate to the fixed-term period (01/10/26 until 25/06/2027).
