Location: Newcastle upon Tyne

We’re currently seeking a Solution Designer to help shape the future of our Payroll and HR SaaS platform. In this role, you’ll act as the bridge between product strategy and delivery, ensuring we build solutions that solve real customer pain points, address compliance needs, and deliver seamless user experiences.

As a Solution Designer at Sage, you’ll partner with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to define clear, valuable requirements and lead the translation of user needs into high-impact product features. This is a key role in turning strategic vision into actionable work that directly improves outcomes for professional users in payroll and HR.

*** Please note that this role is hybrid and will require you to work 3 days a week from our Newcastle office. ***>

Responsibilities
  • Translate roadmap requirements into clear, prioritised backlog items and user stories.
  • Perform business analysis activities and, where required, act as Product Owner within a Scrum team.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, UX Designers, and Development teams to define / refine requirements.
  • Work closely with the Cloud Payroll team in to support product delivery.
  • Document current processes, identify improvement opportunities, and propose effective solutions.
  • Facilitate discovery, analysis, and design activities, including workshops, meetings, and initiation sessions for new projects and initiatives.
Requirements
  • Proven track record in leading solution design or business analysis for B2B SaaS platforms.
  • Skilled in collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver complex features.
  • Ability to navigate compliance-driven environments while effectively balancing user needs and business priorities.
  • A broad understanding of technical processes, such as APIs.
  • Experience with AI-driven solutions, with familiarity in Payroll or HR domains considered a plus.
