The Opportunity

We’ve had a brilliant brief for a Senior Solution / Enterprise Architect to join a well-known brand within the London Market. You’ll work closely with the Head of Architecture and a talented team of Enterprise and Senior Solution Architects to help define and evolve the organisation’s strategic technology roadmap.

This is a software and application-focused role
, ideal for someone who brings deep London Market insurance domain expertise and a strong understanding of complex enterprise ecosystems.

• Conduct and review the organisation’s current technology landscape
  , identifying strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities.
• Design and govern solution architectures across core insurance domains (underwriting, policy administration, claims, and broking).
• Identify technology gaps and inefficiencies
  , recommending scalable and secure improvements.
• Lead innovation initiatives — explore emerging technologies and assess how they can add value to business operations.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, and Business teams to ensure architecture aligns with strategic objectives.
• Drive architecture governance
  , standards, and best practices across platforms and systems.
• Contribute to target operating models and technology strategies for digital transformation programmes.
• Collaborate with vendors and third-party solution providers to evaluate tools and integration approaches.

• Proven experience as a Senior Solution Architect or Enterprise Architect within the London Insurance Market (Lloyd’s, Managing Agents, or Syndicates).
• Strong background in software and application architecture
  , ideally within .NET, Java, or cloud-native environments (Azure / AWS).
• Deep understanding of insurance systems — such as policy administration, claims, exposure management, data platforms, and integration frameworks.
• Experience conducting technology landscape reviews and defining enterprise-level architecture roadmaps.
• Ability to balance strategic vision with hands‑on solution design and technical leadership.
• Familiarity with APIs, microservices, integration patterns, and data architecture
  .
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, able to influence at senior levels.
• TOGAF or equivalent architecture certification is advantageous.
