Nurse Unit Manager – Tyne Grange Care Home

Join us as our new Unit Manager at Tyne Grange care home in Newcastle upon Tyne. This is an exciting opportunity to use your nursing leadership skills to make a real difference every day.

Position details: Unit Manager (RGN, RMN, RNLD).
Care home: Tyne Grange.
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne, NE4 8RR
. Contract type: 42 hours per week.
Rate: £20.82 per hour.
CQC rating: Outstanding.

Tyne Grange is a care service for adults living with complex and high acuity needs including those with acquired brain injuries, complex mental health needs and neuro‑disabilities. As a registered nurse at Exemplar Health Care you’ll be empowered to make a difference with high staffing levels and excellent training pathways.

About the Role

As a Unit Manager you’ll be at the forefront of clinical care delivery for the people living on your designated unit. Your day‑to‑day responsibilities will include:

  • Leading your unit’s care and nursing teams to meet the medical, physical and emotional needs of the residents.
  • Providing strong leadership to maintain and continuously develop high standards of care and drive continuous improvement.
  • Overseeing and managing all clinical elements and risks on the unit.
  • Ensuring care plans and risk assessments are completed and reviewed in a timely manner and reflect appropriate care interventions.
  • Acting as the named nurse for residents allocated to you, with responsibility for the oversight, review and update of their care profiles.
  • Supervision and management of the unit’s medication ordering, handling, storage, administration, recording and disposal.
About You
  • A thorough understanding of best practice in nursing care.
  • Excellent clinical and communication skills.
  • An enthusiastic approach to encouraging and motivating people.
  • The ability to work confidently on your own initiative.
  • Good standard of digital skills.

You must have a first‑level nursing registration with a valid Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) PIN. As this is a management role you should also have post‑registration and management or supervisory experience and/or training or qualifications.
