We have an exciting opportunity for an FP&A Analyst to join our finance team at our Mayborn HQ in Newcastle upon Tyne! The role of the FP&A Analyst is to support the Head of FP&A in delivering high-quality financial insight, forecasting, and performance analysis that strengthens commercial decision‑making, cash management, and return on investment across the Group. The role plays a key part in translating financial data into clear, actionable insights that enable senior leaders to make informed, value‑creating decisions.
This is a predominantly internally focused, analytical role within a transformational FP&A team. Working closely with the Head of FP&A and Finance Business Partners (FBPs), the role supports the development and execution of global financial frameworks, management information, forecasting, and ROI analysis. The position provides strong exposure to Group-level strategy, cashflow, investment decisions, and senior stakeholder engagement, making it an ideal development role for a high‑potential finance professional.
Whatyou will be doing
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Support the preparation of Group management information (MI), ensuring accuracy, clarity, and decision relevance
- Assist with forecasting, Annual Operating Plan (AOP), and Strategic Plan processes
- Key Business Partner to the Global Marketing team, driving cost control & ROI based decisions
- Help develop and maintain financial models to support business planning and scenario analysis
- Support P&L reporting & forecasting
- Track actuals vs forecast and highlight key risks and opportunities
- Assist in identifying drivers of cash and working capital performance
- Support the development and application of ROI frameworks for:
- Category performance
- New Product Development (NPD)
- Marketing investment
- Capex and other business cases
- Prepare analysis that supports investment prioritisation and post‑investment review
- Support the Head of FP&A with goodwill analysis, restatements, and related reporting requirements
- Ensure data integrity and consistency across reports and presentations
- Work collaboratively with Finance Business Partners and functional teams
- Help create a clear, consistent commercial narrative for senior leadership
- Prepare analysis and materials for senior leadership discussions
- Timely, accurate, and insight-driven MI and forecasts
- Improved visibility of cashflow and working capital drivers
- High‑quality analytical support for investment and ROI decisions
- Positive feedback from the Head of FP&A and Finance Business Partners
- Demonstrated development toward increased ownership and complexity
- Part‑qualified or newly qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) or equivalent experience
- Strong financial modelling and Excel skills
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail
- Ability to translate data into clear insights
- Strong communication skills and confidence working with senior stakeholders
- Proactive, curious, and eager to learn in a fast‑moving environment
