Our client specialises in consulting within the finance and investment technology space, created through a partnership between two industry players. As the economics function expands, the team is looking to bring on board a Technical Economist with a strong academic background and a passion for macroeconomic modelling, data analysis, and applied research.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing economics team focused on applying advanced modelling, quantitative research, and innovative technologies to complex macroeconomic and financial challenges, within a highly collaborative and intellectually stimulating environment
RoleWorking as part of a growing team of economists and data specialists, you will contribute to the development, running, and enhancement of large-scale macroeconomic models used to analyse global economic trends and scenarios.
The role blends traditional economic analysis with cutting‑edge computational approaches, including machine learning and large language models, enabling you to work on complex datasets and innovative research projects that support high-level economic decision‑making.
Key Responsibilities- Run, maintain, and improve large-scale macroeconomic models to support forecasting and scenario analysis
- Analyse complex economic and financial datasets to identify trends and generate actionable insight
- Apply large language models and advanced quantitative techniques to analyse economic reports, policy announcements, and market data
- Support security‑level modelling and broader macroeconomic research initiatives
- Collaborate with economists, data scientists, and technical specialists to develop innovative analytical approaches

- Strong academic background in Economics or a closely related quantitative discipline
- Solid grounding in macroeconomics, international economics, and econometrics

- Strong programming and data analysis capabilities
- Exposure to machine learning or large language models within a research or analytical context
- Excellent communication skills and ability to translate complex findings into clear outputs
