Overview of the Team / Business UnitThe Financial Services Consulting business unit provides a range of risk and regulatory compliance services to banks, insurers, investment firms and payment institutions.
We will recruit a Junior Consultant to join the Prudential Regulation & Risk Management Practice, supporting risk‑management frameworks, prudential compliance and regulatory technology initiatives for FS clients.
Typical engagements in the Practice include:- Reviewing and refining clients’ ICAAP, ILAAP, ICARA, wind‑down and recovery plans.
- Responding to clients’ queries on the interpretation and implementation of prudential rules.
- Reviewing COREP, FINREP, PRA 110, MIF and other regulatory returns.
- Supporting the effectiveness of regulatory change projects.
- Supporting assurance on clients’ processing of regulatory data.
- Reviewing firms’ prudential risk‑management capabilities – including policies, procedures, risk identification, measurement, monitoring and reporting.
- Providing internal audit subject‑matter expertise.
The Consultant supports the team across the project lifecycle – from sales and business development, through planning and fieldwork to final deliverables.
Key responsibilities:
- Work as part of small‑ and large‑sized multidisciplinary engagement teams.
- Gather and analyse information, perform gap analysis and recommend improvements.
- Draft client‑specific conclusions and recommendations.
- Support Engagement Managers in delivery management including monitoring status, escalating issues and reviewing work.
- Develop client relationships and contribute to engagement conversions.
- Support product‑offering development and technical proposals.
- Assist with internal projects, research and publications.
- Coach and develop junior team members.
- 2‑3 years of experience in risk, control or prudential reporting – in the FS industry, a consulting firm or a regulator.
- Good understanding of Corporate & Investment Banking, Wholesale & Retail Banking, and Investment Services.
- Experience reviewing business processes, governance, control frameworks and IT infrastructures.
- Knowledge of the UK prudential framework – PRA Rulebook, Supervisory Statements, FCA Handbook, Basel 3.1.
- Experience with ICAAP, ILAAP, ICARA, COREP, FINREP, PRA and Recovery Plans.
- Understanding of the PRA supervisory model and risk‑management frameworks.
- Master’s degree or equivalent.
