An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Director to join a rapidly growing, private equity-backed manufacturing business in the North East of England
.
Our client is a leading global manufacturer backed by a prominent private equity house, the business is on an ambitious growth trajectory with a clear buy-and-build M&A strategy and significant capital investment planned across UK and international manufacturing sites.
The OpportunityReporting directly to the CFO and working alongside the Supply Chain, Commercial Finance & Operations teams, this role will be crucial to the group's growth.
Key Responsibilities- Lead operational financial performance management across manufacturing, supply chain, and logistics
- Own standard costing, cost-of-goods analysis, PPV, yield, and productivity metrics
- Drive working capital optimisation including inventory management and provisioning
- Support S&OP, capacity planning, and capital expenditure processes with ROI modelling
- Own group consolidation and management reporting frameworks for operations
- Lead annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and month-end close processes
- Develop Power BI dashboards and analytics tools for real-time operational insight
- Champion financial systems improvements, automation, and self-service analytics
- Strengthen global data architecture, reporting consistency, and governance
- Support transfer pricing management for intercompany product movements
- Strong background in manufacturing operations finance (cost accounting, standard costing, PPV, yield, productivity)
- Experience working closely with factories within FMCG, packaging, ingredients, automotive, engineering, or similar multi-stage manufacturing environments
- Financial reporting expertise including consolidation, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting
- Hands-on capability with ERP systems (Oracle or similar), data extraction, and BI tools
- Proven ability to operate in lean teams whilst influencing senior stakeholders
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or internationally recognised equivalent)
- Experience in PE-backed or transformation-intensive businesses
- Exposure to international multi-entity environments
- Comfortable with ambiguity, pace, and imperfect processes
- Confident communicator who challenges constructively
- Highly analytical with strong attention to detail
- Engaging business partner who builds trust with operations leaders
