** Position Summary
** Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, the Project Officer supports the development of renewable energy projects from early‐stage planning through to approval and financial close.
You’ll work closely with internal technical teams, consultants, landowners, and government stakeholders across multiple stages of the project lifecycle.
** Key Responsibilities
*** Support site identification, screening, land security, and early‐stage project planning
* Manage project GIS data and produce cartographic maps using ArcGIS Pro software, including site constraints, property schedule, residence matrix and aerial survey data.
* Work with technical teams to develop and refine project layouts
* Assist with landowner engagement, negotiations, agreements and correspondence
* Support management of external consultants undertaking technical and environmental studies
* Assist with stakeholder consultation with planning authorities, regulators, landowners and communities
* Contribute to Environmental Impact Statements, EPBC referrals and other statutory approvals
* Conduct site visits, including stakeholder meetings, inspections and on‐site studies
* Support grid connection, tendering, contracting and financial close processes
* Provide ongoing support through pre‐construction, construction and operations
* Maintain knowledge of State planning, permitting processes and energy policy
** About You
*** 1–2 years’ experience in a project officer or consulting role within planning, environmental or infrastructure sectors
* Exposure to environmental impact assessment and planning processes
* Experience or knowledge of State Significant Developments (desirable)
* Experience in using desktop GIS software such as ArcGIS Pro or QGIS for managing GIS data and producing maps.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities
* Willingness to travel to rural and regional project sites
* Strong Microsoft 365 skills
** Qualifications
* ** Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. renewable energy, planning, environmental science, geography, geospatial science or business)
* Current driver’s licence
