About the Role
A dynamic and growing planning consultancy based in the Newcastle area is seeking a talented Senior / Associate Planner to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced planner seeking to take the next step in their career and work on a varied and high-profile portfolio of development projects.
As a Senior / Associate Planner, you will play a key role in the delivery of planning services across a range of sectors, working collaboratively with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams. You will be involved in preparing and managing planning applications, advising on planning strategy, and contributing to business growth.
This role offers excellent exposure to strategic and operational planning work and provides the opportunity for professional progression within a well-respected consultancy.
Responsibilities- Lead and manage planning applications from inception to determination
- Provide strategic planning advice and tailored solutions for clients
- Prepare planning statements, reports and appeal documentation
- Engage with local authorities, statutory consultees, and stakeholders
- Support business development and client relationship management
- Mentor and support junior team members
- Experience at Senior Planner level or ready to progress toward Associate Planner level
- Strong understanding of the UK planning system
- Experience working within a planning consultancy or local authority
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive and commercial approach to planning practice
- Ability to build client relationships and contribute to business growth
- MRTPI chartership (wish to appoint candidates who are Chartered or actively working towards it)
