Hydraulic Design Engineer

Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne

We are looking for a Hydraulic Design Engineer to join our client in the marine/ offshore industry in their Newcastle office. Reporting to a Senior Engineer, the Hydraulic Design Engineer is responsible for producing the Hydraulic Engineering deliverables for a work pack / sub-system or project.

The role:

-Producing technical solutions to complex engineering problems (may involve project or sales work), this can include concept design, detailed design, calculations, analysis and technical reports / documentation
-Take ownership of the tasks assigned through to successful delivery within the specified time, budget to the specification and required quality standards
-Interpret mechanical, electrical and control requirements to ensure that the hydraulic design performs as per the client / project requirements
-Contribute to writing of project technical documentation such as Functional Design Specification and technical specifications
-With support from Senior / Lead Engineer ensure that an appropriate amount of analysis / calculations have been performed on the sub-system / project
-When developing the technical solution ensure that due consideration is given to construction, commissioning, test and operation & maintenance of the equipment
-As required, ensure that work pack BOM in Team centre structure manager is set up in accordance with best practice and is kept up to date

The person:
-Engineering Design and Development experience demonstrated over 2-5 years.
-As a minimum, educated to an Engineering Degree level ( B Eng or M Eng)
-Member of recognised Engineering body (e.g. IMechE) or working towards this
-Knowledge and experience in design, manufacture and operation of some or all of the following:
Trenchers, Cable/Pipe lay, LARS and bespoke onshore and Offshore equipment.
