Your Role

You will be involved in pre- and post-contract Quantity Surveying (QS) or Cost & Commercial Management services, including estimating, cost planning, procurement, cost assurance, and financial management of projects of varying size and complexity. Depending on your seniority, you may lead QS projects, mentor staff, contribute to bid writing, or represent WSP at industry events.

Your Team

You will be part of our Project Management and Commercial Management Team (PMCM), comprising around 400 colleagues across the UK, working on building and infrastructure projects in various sectors. You will be based in one of our Northern regional offices:
Stockton-on-Tees, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Leeds, or Manchester.

Candidate Requirements Essential
  • MRICS, Assoc RICS, or working towards a professional qualification
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge and experience in QS/Cost and Commercial Management
  • Management or project leadership experience at senior level (if applicable)
Desirable
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Flexible approach to workload
  • Additional relevant professional qualifications (e.g., CICES, APM, Acost

    E)
  • Experience in public sector or heavy industry projects
  • Ability to travel to various sites and offices
  • Degree or higher education qualification
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Knowledge of specialist software (CostX, CEMAR)
  • Experience with NEC Contracts and other industry-standard contracts
  • Experience in sectors like Highways, Infrastructure, Manufacturing, etc.
