About the Role

The Supply Register is working in partnership with Newcastle College to recruit a passionate and knowledgeable Psychology Teacher for a fixed-term paternity cover role, starting in May 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-achieving sixth form environment, delivering A Level Psychology to motivated learners. The successful candidate will ensure continuity of high-quality teaching and support students through a key stage of their academic programme.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging and high-quality Psychology lessons in line with the relevant awarding body specification

  • Plan and prepare structured lessons and schemes of work to support learner progress.

  • Mark assessments and provide timely, constructive feedback.

  • Monitor and track student performance, implementing targeted intervention where required.

  • Prepare learners effectively for examinations.

  • Uphold high standards of attendance, behaviour and academic achievement.

  • Contribute positively to the wider academic team and college community.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • A degree in Psychology or a closely related discipline.

  • Experience teaching Psychology (essential). (FE)

  • A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE / Cert Ed / Level 5 Diploma in Education & Training).

  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.

  • A commitment to student achievement and safeguarding.
