About the Role

About the Role is a summary of the position. The Senior Lecturer (Disaster Risk and Resilience) will deliver courses with a focus on real world industry-based problems and assist to lead the process of ongoing professional accreditation for Construction Management. Additionally, research will align with SABE’s priorities of regional urbanism, addressing climate challenges and collaborating with Indigenous practitioners and communities to work with Country.

About you

You are dedicated and forward-thinking with expertise and professional practice experience in construction management and disaster resilience. You bring a strong foundation in delivering courses focused on industry-based problems and a proven record of engagement with disaster affiliated organisations and/or disaster risk resilience projects.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Completed a doctoral qualification or equivalent accreditation and standing in disaster management aligned to built environment or related area.
  • Demonstrated record of publication or non-traditional research output in high-quality outlets including evidence of international and national research collaborations and/or partnerships.
  • Demonstrated recent capacity for independent research funding success; contributing as a chief investigator including collaborations which create new insights and opportunities for more junior researchers.
  • Skills in active and effective record of supervision honours and master’s research projects and primary supervision of Higher Degree by Research students.
  • Demonstrate recent ability to achieve teaching quality as indicated by internal and external surveys.
  • Demonstrated recent leadership in learning and teaching activities, including program convening and course coordination.
