About the Organization

North East Museums (formerly Tyne and Wear Archives and Museums) is a major regional museum, art gallery and archives service managing a collection of twelve museums and galleries across Tyneside and Northumberland plus the Archives for Tyne and Wear.

North East Museums are looking to appoint an enthusiastic educator to work within the Learning Team for the Laing Art Gallery and the Shipley Art Gallery.

This is a permanent part-time post of 14.8 hours (2 days) per week.

The Learning Co‑ordinator will develop, deliver and evaluate learning programmes focusing on Art & Design and/or Design & Technology, linked to the gallery’s collections, with both schools and family audiences.

The successful candidate will have a passion for art and gallery learning, and a talent for working creatively and imaginatively with a broad audience of visitors.

You will have previous experience of delivering activities to primary and secondary school students and will be committed to learning in a museum setting.
