Maths Teacher

Overview

A Maths teacher with a QTS is required for an Alternative Provision school within the Newcastle area. The role is full time and ongoing long term, starting as soon as possible, and involves working one to one with a pupil who has an EHCP. You will join a welcoming team and contribute to high standards of behaviour, inclusion and engagement.

• Work one to one with a pupil who has an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP)
• Be part of a team that values small class sizes and a personal learning approach
• Contribute to maintaining high standards of behaviour and relationships

• Has a real wish to work with underprivileged pupils who have social, emotional and mental health issues (SEMH)
• Is passionate about teaching Maths with excellent subject knowledge
• Is able to organise themselves and engage with children with SEMH
• Has experience or willingness to work in SEMH settings; counselling or mentoring experience is beneficial but not essential

• Must hold a QTS
• Have experience or willingness to work in SEMH schools
• Provide two referees we can contact
• Have a DBS check or be prepared to obtain one
