EYFS Teaching Assistant
Primary School, Westgate Area of Newcastle
Full-time | Immediate start until April 2026

We are working with a supportive and inclusive primary school in the Westgate area of Newcastle that provides specialist support for children with SEND and complex needs. The school is seeking a committed EYFS Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis, supporting pupils within an Early Years setting.

This role is well suited to someone who is patient, nurturing, and passionate about helping children with additional needs feel safe, supported, and confident in their learning. You will work closely with the class teacher and wider staff team to create a positive and structured learning environment.

Working hours:
Monday to Friday, 08:30am to 15:30pm

The Role
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for children with SEND and complex needs
  • Support the day-to-day organisation and running of the EYFS classroom
  • Prepare and adapt resources to meet individual learning and care needs
  • Promote inclusion, positive behaviour, and emotional wellbeing
  • Support lesson delivery and assist with observations and adjustments to planning
  • Deliver targeted interventions and catch-up sessions where appropriate
Requirements
  • Recent and relevant experience working with children or young people within the last two years
  • A genuine commitment to supporting children with SEND and complex needs
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Ability to work under the guidance of the class teacher
  • Reliability and punctuality
