Position: Teaching Assistant - level 1/2
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne

Teaching assistant level 1/2

We are seeking to appoint pro‑active, motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our team, providing support for both children in a group environment and in a 1:1 capacity across the school. Working in conjunction with the class teacher and special educational needs coordinator (SENDCo).

Responsibilities
  • Providing support during core learning time for small groups and/or on a 1:1 basis
  • Supporting in class and performing individual interventions
  • Preparing and managing resources to support needs
  • Supporting a group of children or a child on a 1:1 basis during the lunchtime period

This position is a fixed term contract with an immediate start until 31st August 2026 working 28 hours and 45 minutes per week Monday – Friday. Hours of work are 8:30am – 3:15pm (including an unpaid lunch break), term time only – 39 weeks. Salary £16,757‑£17,568 (depending on qualifications and experience).
