* Are you a caring, enthusiastic HLTA looking for a rewarding full-time role in Newcastle Upon Tyne? Do you enjoy supporting children’s learning and making a real difference in the classroom every day?
Humly is working closely with a wonderful primary school in Newcastle who are seeking a dedicated HLTA to join their team and support pupils in reaching their full potential.
This role will run through until July 2026, and there is a high chance of further extension.
The Role
As a HLTA, you will play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning within the classroom, covering PPA sessions across Nursery to Year 6. You’ll help create a positive, inclusive learning environment where pupils feel supported, confident, and motivated.
Key Responsibilities
* Classroom Support:
Support the class teacher with the delivery of engaging lessons and classroom activities.
* Pupil Support:
Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning and provide additional support where needed.
* Inclusion:
Support pupils with additional needs, including SEN, ensuring they can access learning and participate fully.
* Behaviour & Wellbeing:
Promote positive behaviour and support pupils’ social and emotional development.
* Learning Environment:
Help maintain a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment.
* Collaboration:
Work effectively with teachers, SENCOs, and other school staff to support pupil progress.
* Safeguarding:
Uphold safeguarding procedures and promote the wellbeing of all pupils at all times.
Requirements
* Previous experience working with children in a school or educational setting (desirable).
* A positive, patient, and proactive approach to supporting children’s learning.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* A genuine passion for working with children.
* Willingness to undertake an Enhanced DBS check.
