English Graduate – Academic Mentor / Classroom Support

Location: Newcastle upon Tyne Daily Rate: £90–£110

Protocol Education is recruiting an English Graduate to support literacy and learning in a secondary school in Newcastle.

This role is ideal for graduates considering teacher training, publishing, speech and language therapy or education‑based careers. The school places strong emphasis on literacy across the curriculum and supports staff development and progression. The site is easily accessible by public transport.

The role will involve:

• Supporting students with reading, writing and comprehension
• Delivering small‑group or 1:1 literacy interventions
• Supporting English lessons across KS3 and KS4
• Encouraging confidence and engagement with learning
• Supporting GCSE preparation where appropriate

We are looking for graduates who:

• Hold a degree in English, English Literature or a related subject
• Have strong written and verbal communication skills
• Are confident supporting secondary‑aged students
• Are considering a future career in teaching or education

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
