Product Designer – Timber Door Handles; Freelance

Overview

Product Designer – Timber Door Handles (Freelance) role for a senior-level designer to develop unique timber lever handles and pull handles for doors. This single project requires creativity, technical expertise, and experience in product design, with potential for further collaboration if the initial work is successful. The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio in furniture or architectural hardware design, with the ability to create functional, aesthetic, and innovative designs that reflect high craftsmanship.

Remote collaboration is supported; estimated delivery deadlines will be discussed upon project initiation.

• Concept development and design of timber lever handles and pull handles
• Creation of detailed sketches, 3D models, and design presentations for review
• Specification of suitable timber materials, finishes, and ergonomic considerations
• Development of production-ready design files and documentation
• Adaptations of designs for prototyping and potential manufacturing requirements
• Delivery of final assets in formats compatible with prototyping and production processes

• Proven experience as a product designer with a focus on furniture, timber products, or architectural hardware
• Strong portfolio demonstrating innovative and functional product designs
• Proficiency with design and modeling software (e.g., Solid Works, Rhino, Fusion 360, or similar)
• Knowledge of timber materials, joinery techniques, and finishes suitable for high-quality handle production
• Ability to balance aesthetics, ergonomics, and durability in design solutions
• Strong communication skills to collaborate remotely and incorporate feedback effectively
• Senior-level expertise with a track record of delivering high-end product designs
• Availability to begin work promptly and deliver within agreed time frames
