Fat Hippo is on the hunt for a creative, culture-savvy Social Media Content Creator to join our award-winning marketing team and take the reins of our organic social channels. This is your chance to help shape how one of the UK’s most-loved burger brands shows up online. We’re bold, playful and unapologetically ourselves. So you know our social content should be too.
AboutFat Hippo
Fat Hippo isn’t just about burgers (although ours are chefs kiss). We’re about big flavours, big personalities and not taking ourselves too seriously. From stacked patties and filthy fries to quirky restaurant vibes (and even quirkier people!) We’ve built a brand that stands out and our social channels are a huge part of that.
With 400,000+ followers across our platforms, we’re growing fast and having a lot of fun along the way. Now we need someone who can capture the chaos, the humour and the behind-the-scenes moments that make Fat Hippo… Fat Hippo!
The RoleThis is a hands‑on, creative role where no two days will look the same.
You’ll be planning, filming and editing short‑form video content that brings our restaurants, teams and flavours to life. Think Tik Tok‑style videos, trend‑led edits, real moments, big energy and content that makes people stop scrolling. You’ll have creative freedom, ownership of your output and the chance to genuinely influence how our brand is seen online.
What You’ll Be DoingThis list isn’t exclusive (creativity never is), but you’ll be:
- Owning and managing a daily social media content calendar
- Living on Tik Tok, Instagram and the like to spot trends before they peak
- Storyboarding, planning and scheduling unique content tailored to each of our platforms
- Adapting content quickly based on performance and trends
- Working closely with our restaurant teams to organise filming and content
- Collaborating with teams across the company to support launches, promotions and campaigns
- Capturing footage on-site (equipment provided)
- Compiling content, editing videos and creating captions all in‑line with Fat Hippo’s brand tone
- Confidently posting content across Tik Tok, Instagram, You Tube, Facebook, Linked In, X and our website
- Engaging with our followers as if they were friends
- Supporting varied marketing department projects
- Part of a small, close‑knit marketing team
- Bringing fresh ideas to the table!
Your work will be measured against agreed KPIs, including:
- Engagement (views, likes, comments, shares, clicks etc.)
- Follower growth across platforms
- Viral performance (especially on Tik Tok)
- Hitting deadlines consistently
- Attend in‑person, marketing meetings (North East)
- On‑site at our restaurants (weekly) and supplier sites (when required)
- Take full ownership of content from idea to upload to engagement
- Some work will require time spent outside ‘normal’ office hours (evenings + weekends – we’re hospitality ofc)
- Independent travel between restaurant locations is essential
This role will evolve as Fat Hippo takes over the world.
What We’re Looking ForYou’ll fit right in this role if you:
- Are confident filming high‑quality content on an iPhone
- Can edit video fast, clean and creatively using Premiere Pro, Cap Cut or similar
- Happy to be in front of the camera (sometimes), do voiceovers (most times) and ofc behind it (all times)
- Know how to hook an audience in the first 3 seconds
- Forecast, create and lead social media trends
- Think creatively while keeping the brand front of mind
- Have experience growing social channels organically
- Are comfortable filming live, real moments in busy restaurants
- Can juggle multiple projects without losing quality
