Apprentice Early Years Practitioner

Overview

You will need to be motivated and passionate about early years, have some knowledge of child development and willing to work as part of a team. Newcastle City Council invites applications for an apprenticeship opportunity in the Castle Nurseries service, which consists of five nursery settings across the City of Newcastle. We are seeking to recruit 1 Early Years Practitioner Level 3 Apprentice, for Castle Nurseries at Montagu.

• The role is full time (37 hours per week) for a fixed term of 24 months.
• Apprentices are paid a percentage of the salary for the role the apprentice is working towards; in Year 1 you will be paid up to 60% of the salary rate, or National Minimum Wage according to age, whichever is greater.
• This apprenticeship role is working towards the role of Early Years Practitioner, which has a yearly salary for qualified staff of £25,949 (includes Real Living Wage).
• We are proud to be an accredited Real Living Wage Council, paying all of our employees a minimum of £13.45 per hour

• Whilst we are unable to guarantee a post in the role apprentices work towards, all our apprentices are supported to apply for suitable vacancies when they complete their apprenticeship so that they can make use of their new skills and qualifications.
