Whether you’re a member of staff or a volunteer, you can also expect first-rate support to manage your health and wellbeing. With year-round events, a 24/7 welfare support hotline and a leading approach to neurodiversity, our initiatives enable you to be at your best.

Above all else, here at Team NP, we can offer you a career that is so much more than just a job, it’s a chance to be part of something that really matters.

It takes a great deal of people from different backgrounds, with diverse skills and experience to serve our force area effectively, think you have what it takes to help us make a difference? This could be the perfect time for you to join us in our Professional Standards Department as a Support Services Administrator.

Our Professional Standards Department ensures all Northumbria Police staff adhere to the Code of Ethics and the Standards of Professional Behaviour. We have a fantastic opportunity to join our team, providing a range of administrative and complaints management support. Our department is crucial in improving public service and promoting ethical behaviour, so we’re looking for a professional, dedicated individual to join our busy team.

This is a unique area of the force where you’ll need a high level of integrity and the ability to balance a heavy, fast-paced workload.

If you enjoy being super organised and staying busy with tasks, this could be the perfect role for you.

What you’ll do
  • Handle and process both paper and electronic mail, ensuring force policies are adhered regarding data protection and confidentiality.
  • Provide friendly telephone support to key stakeholders, the public, and colleagues.
  • Manage and update national (Centurion) and local databases to support the Department, the Independent Office for Police Conduct, and the Office of the Police Crime Commission.
