Job DescriptionJoin us as a Volunteer Receptionist and help create a warm, welcoming environment for patients and visitors while supporting our Hospice Team with a variety of tasks.
Your contribution will assist in streamlining daily duties to allow the hospice to operate smoothly, making a meaningful impact on those in our care.
Availability: Weekday evenings
Time: 16:30 - 19:00
Location: Marie Curie Hospice, Marie Curie Drive, Newcastle Upon Tyne NE4 6SS
Criteria: Minimum 18 years of age. A Criminal Record Check is required for this opportunity - Marie Curie will cover the cost of this.
What you'll do- Warmly welcome and greet everyone entering the hospice, ensuring security guidelines are followed
- Receive deliveries and notify relevant staff
- Handle telephone calls with a polite manner and relay messages
- Escort visitors to areas within the hospice
- Communicate patient arrivals to relevant staff
- Assist with transport needs - booking taxis
- Friendly, reliable, and positive attitude
- Courteous and helpful manner
- Comfortable talking to people from all walks of life
- Organised and self-motivated
- Committed to delivering excellent customer service
- Team spirit - contributing to a positive team dynamic whilst being actively independent in the role
