Main duties of the job

Working on one of the Outpatient Reception areas within the Dental Hospital, checking patients in for appointments and scheduling new appointments.

Answering a high volume of telephone calls. Ensuring all patient notes are available for their appointments.

Providing administrative support to the service.

Job responsibilities

To provide an efficient and effective administrative service to patients and the multi-disciplinary team.

Qualifications
  • GCSE in English Grade C or equivalent or
  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent.
  • ECDL
  • RSA 1 or 2 or equivalent
Skills
  • Very good keyboard skills
  • Good communication, organisational skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Able to prioritise workload
  • Excellent telephone manner
Experience
  • Previous experience in a customer care role within an office based environment
  • Working within NHS or hospital environment
Knowledge
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • PAS / eRecord
