- Manage workplace pensions, auto-enrolment, re-enrolment, and compliance with The Pensions Regulator.
- Handle P11D compliance, including payrolling benefits and timely filing.
- Liaise directly with HMRC to resolve discrepancies or queries.
- Ensure payroll data integrates correctly into finance systems (Xero) and aligns with reporting.
- Monitor payroll volumes and ensure client fees are commercially aligned with service delivery.
- Champion payroll system improvements and support implementation of new technologies (Bright Pay Cloud and other tools).
- Collaborate with other Payroll Managers and accounting teams to develop consistent processes and service strategies.
- 5+ years’ hands‑on UK payroll experience, ideally in an accounting practice or payroll bureau.
- Qualified or working towards a recognised payroll/accounting qualification (CIPP Level 4+, Diploma, or equivalent).
- Strong technical knowledge of UK payroll legislation, pensions, P11
Ds, and benefits compliance. - Proficiency in Bright Pay Cloud and confidence in a paperless, tech‑enabled environment.
- Experience managing payroll independently for multiple clients.
- Exceptional attention to detail, ownership of compliance, and accuracy.
- Proven ability to work independently in a remote environment over the long term.
