Totum Partners are working with a leading law firm to recruit a Partnership Accountant. The role sits in a collaborative, stable team and supports partner drawings, distributions and related accounting. You’ll work closely with the Senior Manager on improvements and project work, with real scope to take on more responsibility and grow within the team.

The Partnership Accountant will be responsible for:

  • Managing partner compensation payments and reconciling partner accounts in 3E
  • Maintaining accurate partner capital records and supporting capital calculations
  • Contributing to the annual partner compensation and bonus process
  • Preparing and maintaining clear accounting documentation and policies
  • Working with the Partner Matters Manager on process and system improvements
  • Supporting overseas offices to ensure accurate partner accounting across regions
  • Assisting with year-end audit requirements and providing information to auditors
  • Liaising with partners, advisers and suppliers on queries
  • Providing compensation data to Tax and Statutory Accounting teams
  • Supporting the drawings and distributions process, including providing cover where required
  • Taking part in ad hoc projects across the Partner Matters team

The successful candidate will have:

  • Strong accounting experience within a law firm (around 3 years preferred)
  • QBE also considered where similar responsibilities have been held
  • Partnership accounting experience is an advantage, but not essential (training provided)
  • Confident communication skills and the ability to engage directly with partners
  • Experience managing monthly reconciliations
  • Ability to work to deadlines and manage workload effectively
  • A collaborative approach, working across EMEA and APAC
