Position: Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation MD - Oklahoma City OK

Overview

MRG Exams West, a wholly owned subsidiary of MRG Exams, is looking for a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Provider to perform medical assessments on United States Veterans as part of the VA's disability benefits process. The provider will review medical health records through a secure Web Portal and perform comprehensive assessments on each veteran. The provider will also complete Disability Benefit Questionnaires (DBQs) through the Web Portal.

DBQs are condition-specific forms created by the VA; through the DBQs, the provider will document exam findings needed by the VA.

The provider will NOT make disability determinations; the VA makes all disability determinations. This is NOT a treating role and this position only provides assessments. The role involves reviewing and assessing an average of 3 Veterans per day. This position is scheduled for Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Responsibilities
  • Review medical health records through the secure Web Portal and perform comprehensive assessments on veterans.
  • Complete Disability Benefit Questionnaires (DBQs) through the Web Portal and document exam findings needed by the VA.
  • Note:

    Independent medical assessments are performed in this role; VA makes all disability determinations.
  • Review and assess 3 Veterans per day on average.
  • Meet required submission timelines:
    Completed DBQs must be submitted within 24 hours after an exam.
  • Proficiently locate key data points within large electronic medical records and analyze data from medical records and exam findings to support medical opinions.
  • Maintain strong typing skills and effective time management to stay on task and meet requirements.
  • Serve Veterans in the community and uphold professional standards in independent medical assessments.
Qualifications
  • Must hold a current license as a Physiatrist.
  • Must be Board Certified in either Neurological Surgery, PM&R, or Psychiatry and Neurology.
