The assessment of patient needs, the development of programs of care and the implementation and evaluation of these programs are key responsibilities of this role. Successful candidates will carry out all relevant forms of care and provide skilled assistance within the Ambulatory Department environment, continually developing diagnostic, investigative, treatment, surgical or recovery skills appropriate to their level of competence.

  • Supervise and educate junior colleagues.
  • Take an active part in teaching both qualified and unqualified staff, and students from the multidisciplinary team.
  • Present a positive, professional image of the organization and the ambulatory team.
  • Take the lead for a specific specialty or clinic (e.g. lower urinary tract assessment), ensuring expert knowledge and troubleshooting within that area.
  • Order relevant lower urinary tract assessment investigations, fully meeting Irmer regulations.
  • Take charge of an area in the absence of the person who has continuing responsibility.
  • Apply UHNM’s Lean-based improvement methodology, supporting the “Improving Together” approach in delivering the outputs of your role.
