Overview

The assessment of patient needs, the development of programs of care and the implementation and evaluation of these programs. Carry out all relevant forms of care. Provide skilled assistance within the Ambulatory Department environment and to continue to develop enhanced diagnostic/investigative/treatment/surgical or recovery skills related to the ambulatory specialty, commensurate with your level of competence. Supervise and educate junior colleagues. Take an active part in the teaching of both qualified and unqualified staff, and students from the multidisciplinary team.

To present a positive, professional image of the organization and the ambulatory team. To take the leads for a specific specialty/clinic, e.g. lower urinary tract assessment (to ensure expert knowledge and troubleshoot in that area of expertise). The type of specialty/clinic varies. To order relevant lower urinary tract assessment investigations, fully meeting Irmer regulations. To take charge of an area in the absence of the person who has continuing responsibility.

Person Specification Essential and Desirable
  • Active NMC Registered Nurse on the Nursing & Midwifery Council s Professional Register part 1 or 12
  • Demonstrable evidence of Teaching and assessing in the last twelve month period.
  • Diploma Level education or equivalent. Health Assessment Course Degree in Nursing Demonstrable evidence of Teaching and assessing in the last twelve month period.
Essential and desirable
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written
  • 2 years relevant clinical experience at Band 5 in ambulatory, investigations, diagnostics and treatments
