Shopfloor Foreman

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Shopfloor Foreman to join a well-established building materials supplier specialising in facade solutions and construction products.
This position is ideal for someone with a background in Construction or Manufacturing, with hands-on CNC machine experience and strong leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities of this Shopfloor Foreman role:

Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, assisting in the monitoring of workplace safety.
Deliver Toolbox Talks and support H&S initiatives in collaboration with the Production Foreman.
Oversee inductions and competency sign-offs for new operatives.
Deliver training on new machinery and processes to existing and new team members.
Manage new starter induction plans.
Create and manage employee work schedules.
Supervise and assign daily tasks to shopfloor operatives.
Act as the first point of contact for operatives regarding machinery, performance, and attendance issues.
Provide regular updates to office management.
Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality and deadline standards.
Address and resolve customer issues or complaints efficiently.
Maintain and clean shopfloor equipment and machinery.
Operate machinery, including forklifts and CNC machines, as required.
Manage tooling and consumables (e.g. saw blades, cutters, drills).
Ensure the work area is clean, safe, and well-organised.

Experience & Knowledge Required for this Shop Foreman role:

CNC machine operation experience – essential
Previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment – desirable
Forklift Operator’s Licence
Strong IT and organisational skills
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Confident and professional with strong relationship-building skills
Customer-focused with excellent attention to detail
Proactive and willing to learn and develop
Capable of working independently and under pressure
Well-presented, polite, and professional
Flexible approach to working hours and responsibilities
Positive attitude and a team-focused mindset
