1st /2nd Line IT Technician
Office-Based –Newcastle Under Lymes
Mon–Thurs 09:00–17:30 | Fri 09:00–17:00
£25,000 – £30,000 (DOE)
Permanent, Full-Time
I am currently supporting a long-established technology business in Newcastle-under-Lyme who are looking for a 1st / 2nd Line IT Technician to join their close-knit team.

They’re keen to develop someone from the area, someone who wants to grow with the business, not just jump roles every year.
They’re looking for a capable and customer-focused 2nd Line IT Technician to join a growing technical team.
This role is heavily focused on Microsoft 365 provisioning, deployment, administration and troubleshooting — this is the primary requirement. You must be confident managing M365 environments independently.
Core Priority – Microsoft 365 Expertise
You must have hands-on experience with:
* Provisioning and deploying Microsoft 365
* Administering Exchange, Teams, SharePoint & One Drive
* User management, licensing & security policies
* Troubleshooting mailbox, sync & authentication issues
* Active Directory & Group Policy management
* Strong working knowledge of SME cloud environments is essential
Secondary Priority – Hardware & Software Support
You should also be confident in:
* Diagnosing and repairing PC, laptop & Mac issues
* Windows & macOS troubleshooting
* Virus/malware removal
* Email troubleshooting (POP/IMAP & Exchange)
Additional Technical Skills - Desirable
* LAN/WAN troubleshooting
* TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, Routing, VLAN, VPN
* Routers, switches, access points & NAS
* Backup solutions (local & remote)
* Firewall & cybersecurity fundamentals
* Remote support tools (Team Viewer, Splashtop)
* Ubiquiti, Dray Tek & Synology experience advantageous
What They’re Looking For
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in IT support
* Strong customer service skills
* Own transport & commutable to HQ
* Proactive, solutions-focused mindset
