The role of a Band 3 Senior Clinical Support Worker is to assist, support and work in collaboration with the Registered Nurse and the wider multidisciplinary team; to provide a safe and holistic approach to person‑centred care. The Senior Clinical Support Worker should actively contribute to the health and well‑being of patients, staff and service users and be able to communicate effectively with sensitivity and compassion.

They should be able to work independently within their sphere of nursing while under the supervision of registered nurses. Senior Clinical Support Workers should demonstrate a level of skill and understanding which enables them to undertake specific skills and tasks delegated by the registered nurse and in accordance with relevant procedures, guidelines and policies y will be required to undertake both routine and specially identified tasks for which they have been trained and assessed as competent.

Key to this role is flexibility with the requirement for staff to work variable shifts over 7 days a week on a week‑by‑week basis within agreed limits. We are a clinic area specialising in the treatment of conditions affecting the Ear, Nose and Throat.

University Hospitals of North Midlands is currently unable to provide sponsorship for this role. This is in accordance with UKVI guidelines and legislation, as these roles do not meet the skill nor salary threshold for sponsorship. If you hold a graduate visa, you are welcome to apply for this role however it is important to note that UHNM will be unable to offer sponsorship at the end of your graduate visa, you must also have at least six months until your graduate visa expires at the start of your employment for training and operational reasons.

Interviews

If you are shortlisted for an interview for this role, you must bring evidence of the following qualifications:

  • GCSE Maths and English at grade C/4 or Level 2 Functional Skills for Maths and English. If you hold overseas GCSE equivalent qualifications, you will need to bring an ECCTIS comparability statement for your GCSE equivalent qualifications along with your original certificate.
  • A Full Care Certificate OR NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (we can only accept NVQ's from a regulated awarding body).

We are looking for a senior clinical nursing assistant band 3 that has a caring nature and skills to care for a complex group of patients that include having undergone major head and neck surgery. Therefore you must have previous caring experience working within an ENT speciality area.
