The UHNM NHS Trust covers Royal Stoke Hospital in Stoke on Trent and County Hospital in Stafford. Royal Stoke is a large acute teaching hospital with a turnover of £360 million. The Emergency Department has an exciting opportunity for a Ward Housekeeper to join us at Royal Stoke University Hospital.

We need motivated individuals to take up these posts to support the ward multidisciplinary team and enhance the patient experience and environment.

Responsibilities
  • You will be responsible for equipment ordering and supplies.
  • Also playing a major role in the organisation of the ward environment and patient comfort.
  • The role supports the delivery of cleaning, catering and minor maintenance services in the ward area and contributes to stocking and ordering to meet patient needs.
  • The post holder will monitor quality standards, report deficiencies and recommend appropriate changes as directed by the Ward Sister/Charge Nurse.

Job responsibilities

The post holder is responsible for ensuring that the environment and catering services meet the needs and expectations of patients, visitors and the ward team. The post holder will work as an integral part of the ward team. He/She will be responsible for the co-ordination of all patient facilities and services in the ward area and ensuring a clean, safe and comfortable environment along with stocking and ordering.

The main elements of the role are ensuring the delivery of cleaning, catering and minor maintenance services, together with other specified tasks to meet individual patient needs as determined by the Ward Sister/Charge Nurse. The post holder will monitor quality standards, reporting deficiencies and recommending appropriate changes.
