The OpportunityThis post represents an exciting opportunity for a motivated team member to join a team of staff in Keele University’s School of Life Sciences within the Faculty of Natural Sciences.
The post holder will provide technical support for the delivery of all practical classes and where appropriate, provide specialist technical support to research laboratories within the School of Life Sciences within the Faculty of Natural Sciences.
They will work independently under the guidance of the senior technician and technical manager providing a range of specialist technical services.
Duties will include all aspects of support for the teaching laboratories as well as support in the maintenance, upkeep, and provision of equipment used within the school and associated buildings. The role holder will also plan and coordinate the work allocation for technical team in conjunction with senior Technicians.
They will be expected to demonstrate/train others in a range of practical skills and equipment in a laboratory environment.
The role will also, where required, provide specialist technical support to research laboratories.
Qualifications & ExperienceYou will have following experience/qualifications: A-level qualifications, including biology or chemistry and another science based subject or equivalent vocational qualifications (ONC or NVQ3) or equivalent knowledge and professional work experience.
