Position Overview

As an Associate Attorney at Law Mom®, you will play a key role in designing and implementing estate plans that meet the individual needs of our clients. Bar

Admission Requirements
  • Licensed to Practice Law in Massachusetts, New Hampshire or Maine:
    Ensure that the candidate is admitted to the Massachusetts Bar and in good standing. Consider whether the firm is open to candidates who plan to sit for the bar exam shortly.
Key Responsibilities
  • Client Consultations:
    Conduct initial consultations with prospective clients, establishing rapport, setting clear expectations, and guiding them through the estate planning process.
  • Estate Plan Design & Drafting:
    Collaborate with clients to design personalized estate plans, including wills, trusts, healthcare proxies, and guardianship designations. Draft legal documents using platforms such as Wealth Counsel.
  • Client Communication:
    Maintain strong communication with clients throughout the process, addressing concerns, providing updates, and ensuring a seamless, client-focused experience.
  • Utilizing Technology:
    Conduct virtual meetings using Zoom, use white boards, and other tools to enhance client interactions. Manage client records and communications efficiently using Zoho CRM.
  • Collaboration with Support Staff:
    Work closely with legal support staff to ensure smooth workflows, document preparation, and client satisfaction. Supervise and guide team members to maintain excellence in client care.
  • Probate & Trust Administration:
    Assist clients with probate and trust administration cases, explaining complex processes, managing timelines, and working with real estate agents and other professionals when necessary.
  • Problem Solving & Initiative:
    Demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving, showing initiative, creativity, and resilience in addressing client needs and process improvements.
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience:

    1-2 years of legal experience, preferably in estate planning or probate. Knowledge of Massachusetts probate and estate tax laws is preferred but not required.
  • Tech-Savvy:
    Proficiency in technology, including Wealth Counsel or similar drafting program, Zoho CRM, Zoom, Google, Google Calendar, and Microsoft Office. Ability to adapt quickly to new systems and software is a must.
  • Client-Centered Approach:
    Strong “bedside manner” with clients, with the ability to build trust, address emotional and complex issues, and provide empathetic guidance.
  • Growth Mindset: A driven individual who is excited to learn, grow, and contribute to the success of the firm. Open to new challenges and dedicated to improving both personal and team performance.
  • Organized & Detail-Oriented:
    Strong organizational skills, prioritizing, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and maintain a high level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent Communicator:
    Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to explain complex legal concepts clearly and professionally to clients, colleagues, and external partners.
  • You must be available 3 evenings a month to present at our community workshops and on our webinar platform.
