SEN Caseworker

Duration: 3–6 months initially, likely extension

Spirehouse is recruiting an SEN Caseworker for a well-regarded Local Authority. This locum role involves supporting children and young people with the most complex SEND needs, coordinating multi-agency input, and ensuring statutory duties under the Children and Families Act 2014 are met.

Key Duties:

• Manage complex SEN casework and multi-agency coordination
• Chair the SEN Assessment Panel and ensure high-quality plans issued on time
• Represent the LA at SEN Tribunals and prepare Statements of Case
• Advise and negotiate with schools on SEN responsibilities and admissions
• Contribute to SEN policy, process improvement, and service development

Experience:

• Local Authority SEN casework experience – Essential
• Knowledge of Children and Families Act 2014 and SEN Code of Practice – Essential
• EHC Plan drafting and quality assurance – Essential
• SENDIST tribunal experience – Highly desirable
• Multi-agency partnership working – Essential
