Overview

Are you a SEND specialist, keen to make a difference working with students through behaviour management and intervention delivery?

A specialist school in Newbury are looking for a Behaviour Specialist to join their team. The school caters for pupils aged 6-19 years
, with SEMH needs.

Responsibilities
  • Implement IEPs/BSPs and risk assessments, to improve behaviour management
  • Lead specialist sessions to improve social skills, self-esteem and communication
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils
  • Provide pastoral support and promote independence
  • Record-keeping of behaviour, incidents and attendance
  • Start as soon as possible
  • Full-time, temporary position
Qualifications
  • At least 2 years experience working with children with SEND or SEMH
  • Strong understanding of positive handling
    , de-escalation techniques, and trauma-informed approaches
  • A counselling or therapy qualification is advantageous
  • Ability to liaise with multiple parties, including teaching staff and parents
  • Emotional resilience and ability to work under pressure
  • Build rapport with vulnerable young people
  • Current DBS
