Job Title: SEN Teacher – Secondary
Location: New Barn School, Newbury, Berkshire RG20 8HZ
Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum (not pro‑rata)
Hours: 40 hours per week | Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only
Start Date: January 2026

About the RoleAs a Secondary SEN Teacher, you’ll have the opportunity to bring creativity and expertise to the classroom. You’ll design flexible, student‑centred programmes, tailor lessons to individual needs, and support pupils to achieve meaningful outcomes.
- Deliver engaging lessons across your subject areas.
- Plan, assess, and review teaching sessions in line with curriculum developments.
- Write, implement, and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Set achievable targets and motivate pupils to reach them.
- Support social, emotional, and behavioural development.
- Build strong, positive relationships with pupils to promote participation and confidence.
This role is perfect for teachers who are passionate about making a real impact and enjoy working in dynamic, specialist settings.
What We’re Looking For- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) / PGCE
- Experience teaching at secondary level with lessons rated good or outstanding
- Knowledge of current curriculum frameworks and SEN provision
- Experience in specialist or SEN settings, supporting students with SEMH/EBD or complex needs
- Creativity, patience, and a proactive approach to problem‑solving
- Make a tangible difference in the lives of young people
