Accounts Semi-Senior

Position: Accounts Semi-Senior (Permanent)
TPF are currently representing a growing firm in Newbury, who are seeking a full-time Accounts Semi-Senior to join their team. This is a varied role where you will gain exposure to working in accounts, tax, bookkeeping and VAT.

This role suits someone who is looking to continue their career within a reputable, local independent firm of chartered accountants that manage to strike a balance between a good quality of work and excellent training and development opportunities, whilst still retaining a strong work-life balance and a friendly, collaborative working environment.

Key Responsibilities

Preparation of statutory accounts.

Assisting with management accounts production.

Personal tax, corporate tax and VAT returns.

General bookkeeping duties using Xero or Quick Books.

Use Sage, Xero, or Quick Books confidently, including providing client training where required.

Work effectively within a practice environment, supporting wider team workflows.

Undertake ongoing training, with full support available towards ACCA or ACA.

Requirements

Strong client-facing experience within a practice setting.

Good working knowledge of Sage, Xero, or Quick Books.

Understanding of payroll and tax processes is advantageous but not essential.

Strong IT skills and willingness to handle simple internal IT tasks.

AAT qualified or ACA/ACCA part-qualified (or equivalent experience).

Benefits

Salary circa £30,000–£38,000, depending on experience and qualification status.
