Seasonal Tax Preparer (Contract)

CPA Firm - Rockland County, NY

Position Overview:

Our client is a CPA firm in Rockland County and is seeking an experienced Seasonal Tax Preparer on a contract basis. This Tax Preparer will work closely with our professional team to deliver high-quality tax preparation and bookkeeping services for both individual and business clients, including high net worth individuals.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Prepare and review federal, state, and local individual income tax returns.

+ Prepare and review business tax returns (corporate, partnership, LLCs and S corps).

+ Assist with bookkeeping and accounting support for select high net worth clients.

+ Maintain organized documentation and work papers in accordance with firm standards.

+ Communicate effectively with clients and team members to obtain necessary information and resolve inquiries.

+ Keep current with relevant tax codes, regulations, and industry developments.

+ Work with any major tax software (such as CCH, Drake, Lacerte, Tax Act or others; firm is open to diverse platforms).

Requirements

Qualifications:

+ Proven experience preparing individual and business tax returns.

+ Solid working knowledge of popular tax preparation software packages (CCH, Drake, Lacerte, Tax Act, or similar).

+ Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

+ Experience handling bookkeeping for high-net-worth clients is a plus.

+ Degree in accounting or finance preferred but not required.

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
