Tool Maker- 2nd Shift

Position Summary

Toolmaker performs repairs and engineering changes on molds and dies in the mold shop.

• Disassembly/Assembly of molds/dies.
• Run ALL machine shop equipment related to tool and die industry (lathe, milling machine, surface grinder, TIG welder and various hand tools).
• Ability to troubleshoot problems at the press.
• Understanding of injection mold/press die process.
• Read/Understand 2D and 3D drawing data related to molds/dies.
• All other duties as assigned

• Education:
  
  Minimum - High School Diploma or GED required. Preferred- 2yr degree in Machine Tool Technology or Apprenticeship in Tool and Die. Journeyman’s card in tool and die making or machining, with Deep Draw Experience also preferred.
• Experience:
  
  Minimum 5 years’ experience with die repair or new build.
• Knowledge:
  All aspects of the Tool and Die trade.
• Skills:
  
  Disassembly/Assembly of mold/dies, manual machining, troubleshooting.
• Physical requirement:
  Stand, push, pull, bend over, perform repetitive motions and lift up to 35 lbs.
• Ability, with or without reasonable accommodation, to work any shift and work overtime.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to bend at the knees and hips.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions with hands and arms.
